The Migratory Patterns of the Land-Locked Human
It's time to move again.
Blah.
I hate moving. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Or at very least I have always felt that away about it until now. We moved alot when I was a kid. We weren't a military family or anything, just kind of nomadic.
I remember living in at least 3 different houses before I was old enough to go to school. 3 houses during kindergarten, 2 during 1st grade, 2 during 2nd grade, 2 during 3rd grade, 2 during 4th grade, 3 during 7th grade, 2 during 8th grade, 2 during 9th grade, and another move between my freshman and sophmore year. I have moved alot.
Since I graduated highschool (almost 13 years ago now) I have lived in about 5 different places and this new place is going to make my 6th (I think).
I think I am done for a while. It wouldn't bother me one bit if the next time I moved it was to John Knox Village. This new place is a rental, but if all goes well I may try to buy it. I have no idea how much it is worth or anything like that, but to be honest I don't really care at this point. I am thinking that renting is the way to go, but I hate apartment life so this was the next logical step (its a house if you haven't gathered yet).
I am already dreading lawn issues but I look forward to being able to maybe get some shop time in the form of shelf and assorted furniture manufacture. My friend Biggie might have a line on some wood-working tools that I can borrow in order to build the Ultimate Gaming Table (or my version of one at very least). I am very excited about that. I also have this really kick ass idea for modular book shelves that I intend on trying to do as well.
I am still going to have a room-mate, but as this place is about 300,000 times the size of our microbial apartment I think everything will be fine. I have also invited my mama to live with us, she is going to take care of the place for us since Stretch and I both spend so much time on the open road and are inherent slobs.
This time around though, I am REALLY getting excited. I hate the moving part still, don't get me wrong, but I am really looking forward to the new house. It is very nice, quite possibly the nicest place I will have ever lived. It will certainly be fun.
Anyway, TTFN I got closets to clean and boxes to pack...
